05/13 Update below. This post was originally published on May 10. Apple recently confirmed one of the longest-running vulnerabilities in iOS history, affecting millions of iPhone users.And now new. The list of bug fixes in the iOS 13.1 is incredibly long, which isn't entirely surprising, as a lot of people complained iOS 13 was very buggy.

Known Issues

Here is where you can find a list of issues currently being investigated by our engineering team. This list will be updated regularly, and issues will be added and removed as they are discovered and resolved. Level 48 to 49 level-up requirement tasks reset
Issue description: Select few Trainers had their Level 48 to 49 level-up requirement tasks reset on January 24, 2021, ~8:30pm PST.
Resolution: This issue will not reoccur. If you have experienced this issue, please contact us in-app so that we can assist you.
New Pokémon do not appear on the map
Issue description: On version 0.197.0, you can see Pokémon on the map when the app first loads, but new Pokémon will not appear during the same game session.
Workaround: Restarting the app, or backgrounding and foregrounding the app may update the map.

Switch timer does not appear in battles against Team GO Rocket or Team Leaders
Issue description: On version 0.197.0, when battling against Team GO Rocket or Team Leaders, the switch timer does not appear and there is no switch cooldown period.

Switch timer is behaving incorrectly in battles against other Trainers
Issue description: On version 0.197.0, when battling other Trainers, the switch timer is not visible after switching Pokémon, though a cooldown time is still active. The timer also appears incorrectly after selecting a new Pokémon, when your former Pokémon faints.

App becomes unresponsive after feeding a berry to a Pokémon
Issue description: On occasion, after feeding a berry to an encountered Pokémon, the app will become unresponsive.
Workaround: This issue appears to happen to Trainers using Facebook login. Please link a Google or Apple login to your account then log out of the game and log back in using the login method you just added.
Issue status: Resolved
Pokémon attacks and Poké Balls are unresponsive in raids
Issue description: On occasion, Trainers will not be able to use Fast Attacks during raids, and if the raid is completed, the Poké Ball cannot be thrown on the encounter screen.
Workaround: This issue appears to happen to Trainers using Facebook login. Please link a Google or Apple login to your account then log out of the game and log back in using the login method you just added.

“Giftable” search term returns incorrect results
Issue description: The “giftable” search term in the Friends List shows Friends who do not currently have a Gift from you, instead of Friends you can currently send a Gift to.
Issue status: Temporarily recurring as we investigate recent server issues. Will be resolved soon.
The Picnicker Medal is not updating correctly
Issue description: The count of the Picnicker Medal is not updating correctly, and sometimes updates after a long delay.
Issue status: Temporarily recurring as we investigate recent server issues. Will be resolved soon.
After being traded, tags applied by a Pokémon's previous Trainer cannot be removed
Issue description: After a Pokémon with tags is traded, the tags cannot be removed by the Pokémon's new Trainer and trying to do so may result in freezing the app.
Issue status: Resolved. We are working on issuing a fix for Pokémon traded before this fix went into place.
Visual bug: Obtained Candy XL sometimes does not show on UI after transferring several Pokémon at once
Issue description: Candy XL obtained when transferring several different types of Pokémon at once does not consistently show on the left-hand side of the UI. This is a visual bug, and Candy XL is still correctly applied to the Trainer's account.

Mega Raids do not count towards the 'Win a level 3 or higher raid' research task
Issue description: Mega Raids do not count towards the 'Win a level 3 or higher raid' research task. Level 3 and 5 Raids do count toward the task.

Mega Energy claimed through research rewards are not displayed properly (visual bug)
Issue description
: When collecting Mega Energy as a reward from a research task, the Mega Energy does not appear visually as a collected reward. This is a visual bug, and the Mega Energy is added correctly to the Trainer's account and displayed correctly when viewing Pokémon of the corresponding evolution line.
Issue status: Investigating

Buddy Adventure Related Issues

  • Issues affecting the 'Battle together' heart
    Issue description
    : The 'battle together' affection heart is not consistently earned when battling with your buddy in Gyms. There may also be a delay in receiving this heart when earned this way. This bug does not occur when battling with your buddy in other ways, such as battling with Friends or in GO Battle League..

  • Poffin bonuses are reset at midnight (local time)
    Issue description
    : Poffin bonuses are reset at midnight (local time) regardless of what time the Poffin is consumed by a Buddy Pokémon.
    Issue status: Investigating
  • Players may not be able to see other Trainers’ buddies during a Shared AR Experience
    Issue description:
    Players may not be able to see other Trainers’ Buddy Pokémon during a Shared AR Experience.
    Workaround: First, try restarting the Pokémon GO app before starting a new Shared AR Experience. If the problem persists, leave the Shared AR Experience and wait a few minutes before trying again.

If you’re an iPhone user you should be cautious when opening unknown videos because there’s an iPhone bug that’s been infecting iPhones. There’s a five-second video that’s been circulating the internet, whenever it’s opened on an iPhone it makes the phone crash.

When you start playing the video, everything seems fine at first. You will be able to exit the video and open other apps. However, the video starts to loop in the background.

Within a minute after the video has been completed the iPhone bug will make its presence felt. The iPhone will start running considerably slower and it will eventually crash.

Fixing The Problem After You’ve Watched The Video:

If you accidentally watched the video and your iPhone has crashed, you will be able to fix the problem by doing a hard reset.

To perform a hard reset, you must press and hold down the home and power buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds. Then you must release the buttons when the Apple logo appears.

To perform a hard reset on an iPhone 7 you must press and hold down the power and volume decrease buttons. Once the Apple logo appears you should release the buttons and your iPhone should start normally.

iPhone Bug Has No Long-Term Effect On The iPhone:

After the phone has been reset all the data that was present on the phone at the time the phone crashed will be present. The iPhone bug does not have a long-term effect on the phone. However, it’s always a bit inconvenient whenever you have to perform a hard reset.

How To Protect Your iPhone From The iPhone Bug:

Apple does a great job of fixing bugs whenever they arise. However, if you’re an iPhone user you should be extremely cautious until this bug gets fixed. If you receive an unsolicited link from a video that you do not recognize you should probably avoid clicking it.
