The Print Settings button does not respond when you choose Printer Manages Color in Adobe Photoshop's Print dialog box.

Here’s how to use it in Photoshop: Open Photoshop, and create a new image or open an existing one. Click the T icon on the left to open the text tool. If you don’t see this menu, click the Window option at the top and select Tools. If an app on your Mac stops responding and you can't quit the app normally, use Force Quit to close the app. To quit (close) a Mac app normally, choose Quit from the app's menu in the menu bar, or press Command (⌘)-Q. Alternatively, you can open Photos in another user account on your Mac and note whether Photos opens successfully. If Photos opens with the new library, or in a different user account, it might mean that there's an issue with your library. Follow the steps to use the Photos library repair tool on your main Photos library.

This issue can occur when you use an older printer driver, or when files have been printed with an older printer driver.

Sometimes, the printer driver's preferences can become damaged. Solution 3 (macOS) and Solution 5 (Windows) remove the driver, which also removes the driver's preferences.

Solution 1: Clear saved print settings from your file

  2. Change Color Handling back to Photoshop Manages Colors.

Solution 3: Remove the printer and reinstall the most recent driver (macOS)

  1. Open System Preferences, navigate to Printers & Scanners and remove all printers of the same brand from the printers listed in the lefthand column.

  2. Navigate to [Macintosh HD]/Library/Printers/ and drag your printer's brand folder to the trash (for example, 'EPSON').

    Note:

This folder is the System Library folder, not the User Library folder under your user name.

  3. Go to your printer manufacturer's website to download and install the most recent printer driver for your printer that is compatible with your version of macOS.

  4. Open System Preferences, navigate to Printers & Scanners and click the + icon at the bottom of the lefthand column to add your printer.

Solution 4: Set another printer as the default printer (Windows)

  1. If your printer is the Windows default printer, set a different printer as the default. For details on setting a printer as the default, see How to set a default printer in Windows 10.

  2. Select File > Printand change Color Handling to Photoshop Manages Colors, click Print Settings, and click Done or OK.

  3. Set your previous printer as the default in Windows.
